Biblical Evenings

The first biblical evening was held in February 3 at 6 o'clock in the catholic action with the presence of many Christians. With the presence of Father Amjad Sabbara, Father François assured the importance of reading the bible in our Christian life. He talked about the chapters of the bible and explained that the Holy Spirit is the source and core of inspiration and activities in Christianity in all centuries so the word of GOD can never be wrong.

The magi--came from the east to worship Baby Jesus. Matthew 2

"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem, saying, 'Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.'"

The Magi came from Persia and from the east- Arab countries. The kind of gifts they brought indicates where they came from.

Their number is unknown. The Assyrian and Armenian Church say that they might be ten but the Roman Catholic Church say that they are three. The most important thing is that they saw a star in heaven, which indicates that a King was born. They were attracted to a great event that would change their lives. As soon as they get to Jerusalem, the star disappears and reappears again and shows them where Baby Jesus is and they were inspired by God not to get back to Herod.
